1) No mating of full; Brother/Sister, Mother/Son, Father/Daughter. 2) The aim should always be to improve quality and soundness and to produce healthy typical Victorian Bulldogs conforming as closely as possible to standard.
3) Dogs should be kept in clean comfortable conditions and their welfare should be of paramount importance.
4) No bitches should be bred before eighteen months old or after six years of age, for a maximum of four litters. Preferably not two seasons in a row and never three.
5) Puppies should never be released before eight weeks old.
6) Dogs and bitches used for breeding should be of good quality and type. Healthy with reliable, steady and loyal temperament.
7) Stud dog owners have a great responsibility towards the breed and must ensure that the bitch to be mated is suitable with regard to rules six and eight above, and especially ensure that it is never mated with anything other than a Victorian Bulldog.
8) Breeders should be responsible for placing their puppies in suitable homes and maintain a life long interest in, and responsibility for their stock, including the option of first refusal in the event of any of the stock becoming unwanted. |
